Nortek Signature500 ADCP


The Signature500 ADCP is designed for flexibility. It measures current profiles at up to 8 Hz sampling frequency. It can also measure direct vertical velocity profiles, wave height and direction, and ice thickness and drift. The center beam also functions as a biological echosounder, enabling high-resolution measurements of biomass in the water column. All these features can be combined using Nortek’s patented concurrent mode technology.
The ADCP is mounted through the hull from the underside. There are two watertight barriers, an O-ring mounted on the under side of the hull and a rubber boot that seals to the hull and the ADCP once installed. Both should be checked for damage and cleaned prior to installation.

Seabird CTD SBE 49


The SBE 49 FastCAT is an integrated CTD sensor intended for use as a modular component in towed vehicles, ROVs, AUVs, or other autonomous platforms that can supply DC power and acquire serial data. It is an easy-to-use, light, and compact instrument, well suited to even the smallest vehicle. FastCAT must be externally powered, and its RS-232C data logged or telemetered by the vehicle to which it is mounted. FastCAT does not support auxiliary sensors; if such sensors are required, the user’s vehicle must be equipped to acquire their signals independently.

ThelmaBiotel TBLive


The TBLive allows for a live data feed for manual tracking. For users wanting the ability of real time data access and manual tracking, this is available through an optional cable connector module. This way the data can be accessed continuously through internet or local network solutions. The TBLive will communicate through the standard RS485 protocol which supports long cable lengths and offers great stability. With a four wire connection the receiver is supplied with power through the cable while it maintains secure operation with an internal battery in case of instability in the remote power supply. All data is stored locally as well as it is transferred through the wire connection. The connectors used in the TBLive are high quality, rugged, wet-pluggable connectors for trouble free operation and reliability.

Aanderaa Oxygen Optode 4835


The Oxygen optode is designed to measure absolute oxygen concentration and % saturation. The optode can be used from streams to deep sea, from fish farms to waste water and from polar ice areas to hydrothermal vents. The lifetime-based luminescence quenching principle offers the following benefits:

WET Labs ECO Puck Triplet


The ECO Triplet-w features an evolutionary design that builds off the bio-wiper and faceplate available on the current ECO line. A copper faceplate covers all but the optics, and a central pivot three-armed copper and neoprene wiper clears the optics prior to sampling. The wiper and shaft assembly is oil filled, reducing the need for returning the instrument for shaft seal replacement. The ECO Triplet-w is configured for:

  • biogeochemical measurements of chlorophyll and FDOM fluorescence and red backscattering
  • remote Sensing and Particle Dynamics Measurements—blue, green and red backscattering

Both the Optode and Eco Triplet are mounted on the fin. In order to fit these sensors the fin needs to be fitted to the hull.
